Commercial Painting Contractors for Facilities That Cannot Afford Downtime

Your facility keeps running while we work. That is not an accident. It is how we plan every job. Hursh Painting is a team of commercial painting contractors serving facilities managers, property managers, plant managers, and general contractors across Central Pennsylvania.

Our projects average $10,000 and above. We price fairly for the scope and quality we deliver, not at the bottom of the market and not at the top. This is not handyman work. It is professional-grade coating performance, backed by a structured process, safety credentials, and a team with real tenure.

We work in occupied offices, warehouses, healthcare facilities, schools, and senior living communities. We diagnose surfaces before we touch them, plan around your schedule, use coatings built to last, and close out the job clean. When the last paint job failed, or your facility is overdue for a serious refresh, Hursh Painting is the contractor to call!

What We Bring to Every Commercial Project

Your project gets a commercial painting contractor with over 45 years of experience working in occupied commercial and industrial facilities across Central Pennsylvania. Every crew member undergoes background checks and drug screening, and we use commercial-grade products selected for your specific surface type, environment, and performance requirements.

Our commercial painters perform the following painting services:

  • Interior and exterior commercial repainting
  • Vinyl wall covering installation (54-inch commercial-grade)
  • Epoxy and high-performance coatings
  • Elastomeric and waterproof wall coatings
  • Heavy-duty industrial coatings
  • Warehouse and factory ceiling repainting
  • Electrostatic painting
  • Multi-color coatings
  • Caulking, sealants, and clear water repellents
  • Staining and finishing

Not sure which service fits your project? We will walk the space with you, assess the surfaces, and recommend the right approach before any work begins.

The Facilities and Industries We Serve

Your building type shapes everything: the coating selection, the scheduling approach, the surface prep required, and how we protect the space while work is underway. From healthcare painting and institutional painting to warehouse ceiling painting and industrial coating work, our experience spans a wide range of facility types across Central Pennsylvania.

We regularly work in the following environments:

  • Healthcare and medical facilities
  • Warehouses and distribution centers
  • Factories and manufacturing facilities
  • Office buildings and corporate campuses
  • Hotels and hospitality facilities
  • Schools and educational institutions
  • Senior living and assisted living communities
  • Churches and institutional buildings
  • Shopping centers and retail facilities

Each environment comes with its own demands. Healthcare facilities need low-odor coatings and off-hours scheduling. Industrial facilities need coatings that withstand heat, dust, and daily wear. Senior living and hospitality corridors often benefit from vinyl wall covering installation in high-traffic areas where standard paint will not last.

How We Manage Every Project

A well-run paint job does not happen by accident. Here is how every project runs:

  1. Walk-through and surface assessment: We review the scope and identify any coating failures, peeling paint, or mold and mildew that require surface cleaning before work begins.
  2. Scope and schedule: You receive a clear written scope and a phased schedule built around your operations.
  3. Surface preparation: Proper prep is where lasting results begin. We do not skip it.
  4. Protection and containment: We protect people, furniture, and equipment in occupied spaces.
  5. Coating application: Products are matched to your surface, environment, and performance requirements.
  6. Closeout: We walk the space with you before the job is considered complete.

Planning Ahead? The December Through March Window

The December through March period is one of the best times to schedule interior commercial repainting for most facilities. Business slows slightly, budgets are reset, and access is easier to manage.

If you are coordinating with an industrial painting contractor on a larger scope, early planning also means better crew availability and greater scheduling flexibility. Do not wait until spring to start the conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about working with a commercial painting contractor? Here are answers to some of the most common ones we hear from facilities managers, property managers, and general contractors.

  • Can You Work in an Occupied Facility Without Disrupting Operations?

Yes. We plan commercial repainting around your schedule, phase work by area, and keep job sites clean throughout. Healthcare painting and institutional painting environments are ones we know well. Scheduling around patients, residents, and staff is standard practice for us.
  • What Do You Do If There Is Peeling Paint or a Coating Failure?

We diagnose the cause first. Peeling paint and coating failure are surface problems, not cosmetic ones. We properly prepare the surface and select the right product before any coating is applied. Skipping that step is how the same problem comes back.
  • What Coating Types Do You Use for Commercial and Industrial Work?

It depends on the surface and environment. We use elastomeric coatings for exterior masonry, epoxy coatings and heavy-duty industrial coatings for industrial facilities, and high-performance coatings where specific conditions require it. We explain the options in plain language during the estimate.
  • Do You Handle Mold or Mildew on Surfaces Before Painting?

We perform mold and mildew surface cleaning as part of preparation before repainting. We do not perform mold remediation. If we identify mold during the walkthrough, we flag it so you can bring in the right contractor before painting begins.
  • Is Hursh Painting Certified for Lead Paint and Warehouse Ceiling Painting?

Yes. We are an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm for older buildings where lead-based paint may be present. For warehouse ceiling painting and factory ceilings, we use boom lifts, bucket trucks, and scissor lifts. Our safety program earns annual recognition through the STEP Award from Associated Builders and Contractors, Keystone Chapter.

“I have been using Hursh Painting for over 30 years for my commercial real estate work and my home for over 20 years and they have been very reliable and excellent to work with. I will not use any other painters for my projects and my home other than Hursh. They have been a pleasure to work with. Their painters are craftsmen and their work is very detailed whether it be painting large concrete block walls on my shopping centers or painting a wood replica of a rack of billiard balls for the billiard room in my basement.”
